Starling
Starlight and a kissing gate closed
I'm taking the long drive, mapping the coast
Eyeing the jet trails that divide the sky
and the by and by
Starbright, there's a comet coming
Got to get home, she'll feel it passing
Noticing road signs glow in the dark
She's calling "send me a spark"
And breaking my heart
A starling catches her eye
It flies to the ceiling in lieu of the sky
Watching its feathers and battered wings part
Is breaking her heart
