Icarus
A fly on the window pane, I see the world outside. I can stand with arms outstretched but I will never reach the sky. I can let you near me. I can't let you inside. I can let you hear me, but I can't let you see my eyes. Every time I look at you I'm afraid of what I'll find. Afraid of what I'm looking for and what I've got to hide I can stand here before you. I can lay by your side I can't let you see my eyes I know I hurt you. I keep you guessing all the same. All this deception is nothing but a painful game I tore the picture that was you and me I put it back together but now the tear is all I see Every time I look at you I'm afraid of what I'll find. Afraid of what I'm looking for and what I've got to hide I can stand here before you. I can lay by your side I can't let you see my eyes Fly toward the sun, though your wings may come undone.
