The Withering
I welcome the withering
The long, lonely dithering
Through hither and thither
In, darkness comes slithering
The patter and pittering
My heartbeat askittering
So ruthless, so shivering
The heartless embittering
The wreckage and littering
Of lies so disfiguring
The chatter and chittering
While truth stands there, quivering
Here is such withering
Through long, lonely wintering
On snowbanks, a flittering
Of sunlight so glittering
Still, darkness comes slithering
Through hither and thither
In long, lonely dithering
