it takes a long time to learn to speakyour lips and lungs and throat and tongue start off so weakand it takes even longer to learn what not to sayso i guess i'll have to wait'cause it takes a long time to fall asleepto stretch your arms out and bend your kneesand it takes even longer to wake up every dayso i guess i'll have to wait'cause it takes a long time to learn to walkso you celebrate your locomotion with shoes and socksand it takes even longer to know just when to stopso i guess i'll have to waityou pull me in with all those pretty lightsi pull away and cover up my eyes'cause i won't stay to fight a losing fighti'll move away from any dog that bitesand i'm okay with being by myselfand i'm okay with drinking to my healthand i can't say just what i would've changedall these things just have to be this wayit takes a long time to learn to liveto eat and breath and dance and sing and love and kissand there's no way to know just where to go from hereso i guess i'll have to waitbecause it takes a long time.
